Shopify launches Tinker, a free mobile app that builds brand assets and store visuals from a plain-language prompt

Shopify launched Tinker on Thursday, a free mobile app that consolidates more than 100 AI tools drawing on models from OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic into a single environment where merchants can generate logos, product images, social media videos, and 360-degree product views by describing their needs in plain language, with Shopify handling the complex prompting in the background. The app maintains brand consistency across sessions by applying context from prior creations to new ones automatically, and updates when new AI models launch from its provider partners, removing the need for merchants to separately adopt each new tool. The launch extends Shopify’s agentic commerce strategy beyond storefront structure, giving its 4.8 million active merchants a tool to build out brand assets and marketing materials as the company bets that visual brand quality will carry more commercial weight in an AI-driven discovery environment.
