Amazon won a temporary federal injunction against Perplexity to block its Comet browser from scraping the e-commerce website. U.S. District Judge Maxine Chesney ruled that the retailer provided strong evidence of unauthorized access and granted a one-week stay for an appeal. Amazon filed the lawsuit in November over allegations that the concealed automated tools posed customer security risks and disrupted its advertising traffic metrics. The company actively blocks external assistants from its platform to prioritize its proprietary Rufus shopping tool.
