YouTube is expanding Ask YouTube, its experimental AI search tool, into a product research guide that pulls from videos and outside sources to build comparison tables, and viewers can keep asking it questions from a video’s watch page. YouTube’s Shopping affiliate program, which runs in the US, UK, Thailand and India today, will reach 35 countries by year’s end, and its product tags will switch automatically to offers for the viewer’s own country. Creators in India and Brazil will also be able to tag Amazon products, with more markets to follow this fall. YouTube announced the changes at Made on YouTube, along with custom homepage feeds that viewers build from plain-language prompts, which reach all US users this fall.
