Wix’s Base44, the vibe-coding platform Wix bought for $80 million in 2025, launched Base Code to all its users as a separate product that connects GitHub repos to shared workspaces in the cloud, where teams edit an existing codebase through plain-language requests. Base44 built it so product managers, designers, QA, and operations staff can work alongside engineers, typing a change into chat, watching it render in a live preview, and submitting it as a pull request that engineers still review. Workspace owners can restrict which GitHub organizations a project can be imported from, and secrets are stored encrypted. Base44’s original app builder generates new apps from prompts, while Base Code works on software that teams already run in production.
