Wix has acquired Base44, an AI platform that lets users build functional software using natural language in a chat-based interface. The deal positions Wix to go beyond website building by enabling users to create full-featured apps without third-party tools or coding knowledge. Base44 CEO Maor Shlomo said the acquisition could help replace entire software categories, while Wix CEO Avishai Abrahami called it a milestone in the company’s mission to expand AI-driven creation tools.
