TikTok will test stronger detection aimed at accounts pumping out AI-generated spam across sensitive topics such as politics, financial advice, and health. Testing, set to begin in the coming weeks, works at the account level in topics where false posts could damage public trust or people’s health, building on spam removal that TikTok says took down over 86M fake accounts in the first quarter. TikTok also joined the steering committee of C2PA, the content-provenance standard it says it was first among video platforms to adopt two years ago. Content Credentials, creator labels, and invisible watermarking have let TikTok tag more than 3B videos as AI-generated, amid broader crackdowns on inauthentic content from YouTube, Meta, and Google.
