Thrive Holdings raised $2B at a $12B valuation, with SoftBank among the investors. The firm, a spinout of OpenAI backer Thrive Capital, buys traditional service businesses and rebuilds how they work around AI. OpenAI has held a stake in Thrive Holdings since December 2025, under a deal that sends OpenAI staff into the portfolio companies to speed up adoption. Thrive now runs more than 70 businesses across two platforms, Current in accounting, with 2,000-plus professionals across 50-plus firms, and Shield in IT with roughly 20 companies. Some of the new money goes toward a third platform handling the regulatory side of physical assets, which means permitting, inspection paperwork, and compliance tracking for data centers, manufacturing, power, water, and transportation projects.
