ThredUp launches live selling on Whatnot and explores supplying its secondhand inventory and tools to other Whatnot sellers

ThredUp started selling on Whatnot on Tuesday, streaming shows out of its Atlanta and Dallas distribution centers, and it’s exploring a bigger role on the platform by supplying other Whatnot fashion sellers with its inventory, curation tools, and logistics support, according to Liz Morton at Value Added Resource. CEO James Reinhart called the launch “just the beginning,” and ThredUp already has a signup page for live sellers who want to source from it. Whatnot may not be its only outlet, though, since ThredUp is hiring contract hosts at $25 to $30 an hour plus commission to run two to three shows a week on “Whatnot and other live selling platforms.”
