Stripe adds GCash, MoMo, Samsung Pay, PromptPay, TrueMoney, and Touch ‘n Go as cross-border payment methods for sellers

Stripe turned on six local payment methods for cross-border sellers, covering GCash in the Philippines, Touch ‘n Go in Malaysia, PromptPay and TrueMoney in Thailand, MoMo in Vietnam, and Samsung Pay in South Korea, with Sea Group’s ShopeePay and SPayLater due across Southeast Asia in Q4. The company also opened Managed Payments, its merchant-of-record service, to digital businesses selling into 195 countries, taking on indirect tax, disputes, fraud, and support so sellers don’t have to register local entities. Stripe said routing payments through the local entities it already operates lifts approval rates. It plans to bring Treasury to Singapore in early 2027, letting businesses hold five currencies and pay suppliers in nearly 100 countries straight from those balances.
