Saks bankruptcy filings reveal $900M Amazon deal and debts

Saks Global disclosed a commitment to pay Amazon up to $900 million in referral fees over eight years in recent bankruptcy filings. The documents highlight a critical $550 million inventory shortfall and identify Authentic Brands Group as being positioned to take majority control of the retailer’s intellectual property joint venture. The documents also identified the luxury house Chanel as the largest unsecured creditor owed $136 million. The retailer also secured $1.75 billion in financing to navigate the restructuring process.
