Americans worked from home on about 26% of paid workdays in July, roughly the same share as two years ago, according to WFH Research’s monthly survey, despite companies pushing staff back to the office. That’s far below the 62% reached at the start of the pandemic but close to four times the 7% share in 2019. Stanford economist Nick Bloom, who co-runs the survey, told Aki Ito at Business Insider it would likely have taken 40 years to get here otherwise. Most full-time employees still work fully on site, at 62% over the past year, while 26% are hybrid and 12% are fully remote.
