Recursive Superintelligence, a startup founded by former Google DeepMind principal scientist Tim Rocktäschel and ex-Salesforce chief scientist Richard Socher along with former OpenAI researchers, raised at least $500M in a round led by GV with participation from Nvidia, valuing the company at $4B pre-money, with the round potentially reaching $1B due to oversubscription. The roughly 20-person company, incorporated in London just four months ago, is working toward AI that can continuously improve itself without human intervention, though the concept remains at the research stage. The deal reflects continued venture enthusiasm for AI research spinouts from major labs, with startup investment hitting an unprecedented $300B in the first quarter of 2026 according to Crunchbase.
