Perplexity says its 2028 IPO target won’t budge no matter how the Anthropic, OpenAI, and SpaceX listings perform

by | Jun 9, 2026 | Latest E-commerce News & Updates

Perplexity is sticking to a 2028 IPO target regardless of how rival listings from Anthropic and OpenAI play out, with CEO Aravind Srinivas saying the timeline was set independently of those companies and hasn't changed. Srinivas didn't sugarcoat the risk, acknowledging there would be ripple effects if the rival IPOs stumble and pointing to SpaceX's offering as a leading indicator for how investors will receive Anthropic and OpenAI, though he expects all of them to do well. Chief Business Officer Dmitry Shevelenko framed the patient 2028 stance as a discipline that forced Perplexity to build a healthy, high-growth business, a notable posture as Anthropic ($965B valuation) and OpenAI ($852B) file confidentially and SpaceX kicks off the largest IPO roadshow in history.
