Pentagon CTO claims Anthropic’s Claude pollutes the defense supply chain with embedded policy bias

Anthropic is facing claims from Pentagon CTO Emil Michael that its Claude models “pollute” the military supply chain with embedded policy preferences. The Department of Defense is designating the startup as a supply chain risk to ensure contractors do not use the software in critical weaponry. Anthropic is suing the federal government over the move and is stating the label is jeopardizing hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts.
