PayPal is partnering with Meta to let its customers shop and check out through Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent, at merchants that accept PayPal, according to posts on X from PayPal and Meta chief AI officer Alexandr Wang. Muse is only available in the US so far, where Meta launched it on September 8 with Stripe’s Link, which checks out directly at more than a million businesses and generates a one-time virtual card everywhere else. Meta then added Shop Pay through a Shopify deal on Monday that covers every Shopify store, making PayPal the agent’s third checkout option in two weeks. Amazon, however, has cut Muse off from its marketplace, saying Meta’s agent wasn’t authorized to shop there.
