OpenAI’s 110 UK employees averaged about £2.3 million each in salary and shares last year, up from £1.1 million in 2024, according to annual accounts for OpenAI UK Ltd. That works out to £87 million in salaries and £168 million in stock, paid during a year when Meta was reportedly offering top AI researchers multi-year packages worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The London unit is OpenAI’s largest research hub outside the US and also runs sales and government affairs, and it more than tripled its revenue to £293 million in 2025 while booking a £20.3 million profit.
