OpenAI president Greg Brockman dismissed concerns about the company’s executive turnover, telling CNBC on Monday that the exits aren’t especially unusual and that OpenAI draws so much attention every departure gets picked apart. His argument is that OpenAI has moved through several eras with different leadership groups sitting under the same two people, and that the company is stronger for that churn. “I’m a constant, Sam is a constant,” Brockman said. The questions followed the loss of revenue chief Denise Dresser and longtime executive Brad Lightcap within two days of each other. Brockman has separately taken over the portfolio of product and business chief Fidji Simo since she stepped down last month, which puts OpenAI’s most profitable work directly under him.
