OpenAI launched dots, always-on agents built on GPT-6 Astra that work from a separate cloud computer and browser, connect to more than 4,000 apps, and can take on tasks like booking travel or scheduling meetings without supervision. Dots work inside ChatGPT, Slack, and Teams, with texting to follow, and Pro and Business Premium subscribers get their first one included and pay more for additional dots, while Enterprise, Edu, and Healthcare workspaces get a beta their admins can switch on. Users set rules for what a dot can do alone, what needs approval, and what’s blocked, and OpenAI checks actions that affect accounts before they go through. Dots put OpenAI in direct competition with Meta’s Muse, which launched two weeks ago.
