Meta quietly launched Forum on Friday, a new standalone iPhone app that brings together posts from all of a user's Facebook groups into a single feed without algorithmic recommendations or posts from friends, with posts syncing in both directions between Forum and the original Facebook group feeds. The app includes an AI feature called Ask that lets users search across all their groups at once instead of scrolling through each one individually, with the app pulling in a user's existing groups, profile, and activity when they connect their Facebook account. Meta did not announce Forum on its newsroom page or X account, with a spokesperson telling CNET only that the company “tests lots of new products publicly,” and observers including social media consultant Matt Navarra noting the app's emphasis on “real people” makes it look similar to Reddit. Great idea for an app. Facebook Groups is the best part of what Facebook offers today.
