Meta added audio and video calling to WhatsApp Web, so group and one-on-one calls now run in a browser with nothing to install. Web calls carry no time limit or cost, according to Meta, and come with reactions, screen sharing, and a Calls tab holding full history and favorites. Four other calling features are rolling out across WhatsApp, led by Call Transfer, which moves a group call to another device mid-call without hanging up, and Waiting Room, which parks participants on approval-required call links until the host lets them in. QuickHD puts high-definition video in the opening seconds of a call, while noise suppression cuts background sound and can be toggled in in-call settings. Meta calls the rollout gradual and hasn't given a timeline or said which regions get access first.
