Klarna links up with ride-hailing app Bolt to bring BNPL and pay-now options to rides and scooters in four countries

by | Jun 19, 2026 | Latest E-commerce News & Updates

Klarna has partnered with Bolt, the European ride-hailing and shared-mobility app, to build its payment options into Bolt's app across Sweden, Germany, Finland, and Norway. Riders in those countries can now pay for rides and electric scooters with Klarna, and cover vehicle rentals in Germany, choosing to settle the full fare upfront or spread it across Klarna's monthly installments. The integration uses tokenized payments so riders store their card details once and skip re-entering them on later trips, with the phased rollout set to reach all four markets by the end of June 2026. Klarna casts the deal as a push into frequent, low-cost city spending, beyond the retail and travel checkout it's better known for, while Bolt frames it as backing its goal of shared mobility over personal car ownership.
