Sal Khan announced the Khan TED Institute, a joint venture with TED and testing organization ETS that will offer a bachelor's degree in applied AI for under $10,000, targeting students shut out of traditional universities as well as mid-career professionals looking to reskill. The program is expected to launch within 12 to 24 months pending accreditation, with curriculum shaped by corporate partners including Google, Microsoft, Accenture, Bain, McKinsey, and Replit to ensure it reflects skills employers actually value. The launch comes as 51% of Gen Z graduates report regretting pursuing a degree, according to a 2025 Indeed survey, and as tuition at Stanford and Harvard approaches $65,000+ per year.
