Isara, founded in June 2024 by 23-year-old researchers Eddie Zhang and Henry Gasztowtt, has raised $94M at a $650M valuation to build software that coordinates large networks of AI agents to solve complex problems in finance, geopolitics, and biotech, with OpenAI among its backers. The company demonstrated an early version of its platform at an Allen and Co. conference earlier this year, coordinating roughly 2,000 AI agents to forecast the price of gold, and plans to initially sell its software to investment firms for predictive modeling. Zhang, a former OpenAI researcher who completed his doctorate at Harvard, and Gasztowtt, who studied at Oxford, built the company around a 2024 academic paper they co-authored on how AI systems could collaborate to improve policymaking.
