Meta announced that creators on Facebook can now tag affiliate products directly in Reels and photos as clickable floating bubbles, launching with Amazon in the U.S. and expanding to Temu and eBay in the coming months, while Instagram will allow influencers to load up to 30 shoppable affiliate links into a single Reel using their own product URLs. The move effectively cuts out third-party affiliate tools like ShopMy and LTK by bringing product linking natively into both platforms, mirroring how TikTok Shop embeds shopping links directly into video content. The announcement comes weeks after Meta faced backlash from influencers who discovered Instagram had quietly added “Shop the look” links to their content without permission, pointing to cheap lookalike products rather than the items actually featured.
