Grasshopper is the first bank to join Anthropic's MCP Directory, which lets its business banking clients find and connect their accounts inside Claude. Working with digital banking partner Narmi, Grasshopper built the MCP server that makes the connection, and clients link up through OAuth, so Claude gets a secure, read-only token and never sees their banking password. Once connected, they can ask about their money in plain English and get answers on cash flow, account balances, spending trends, and recurring vendors without exporting anything. Grasshopper was also the first US bank to launch an MCP server, and it says the new listing makes AI banking easier for small businesses and startups to tap into.
