AegisAI, founded by former Google Safe Browsing and reCAPTCHA leaders Cy Khormaee and Ryan Luo, raised a $13 million seed round led by Accel and Foundation Capital. The startup is building an autonomous AI platform that blocks phishing, malware, and business email compromise attacks before they hit inboxes, claiming up to 90% fewer false positives than traditional tools. Its system integrates with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, using real-time AI agents to analyze links, attachments, metadata, and behavioral patterns without relying on static rules. Pilot customers in fintech and tech report improved detection and less manual workload, positioning AegisAI as an “AI-native” disruptor in email security.
