Google released an experimental offline-first dictation app called Google AI Edge Eloquent on iOS, powered by its Gemma speech recognition models, entering a market already occupied by Wispr Flow, SuperWhisper, and Willow. The app transcribes speech in real time, then automatically removes filler words like “um” and “ah” and offers formatting options including key points, formal, short, and long versions of the transcript. It can also import custom keywords and jargon from a user’s Gmail account, and while it currently only works on iOS, the App Store description references an upcoming Android version with system-wide keyboard integration.
