Google committed up to $40B in Anthropic, with $10B in cash upfront and potentially $30B more tied to specific performance targets, following Amazon's similar $25B commitment announced earlier in the week that included an initial $5B investment with up to $20B more in the future. The Google investment was announced alongside an Anthropic update on political neutrality in Claude, with the company saying it has trained Claude to treat different political viewpoints with equal depth and analytical rigor ahead of the U.S. midterms and other major elections worldwide. Anthropic has also recently released its Mythos model to a limited group of partners, struck a deal with CoreWeave for data center capacity, and continues to rely heavily on Google Cloud's tensor processing units and Broadcom chips for its infrastructure needs.
