Google and Meta each moved last week to dismiss lawsuits from narrators, broadcasters, and podcasters who say AI systems were trained on their voices, arguing the complaints never allege facts showing any plaintiff's voice was used. Google told Judge April Perry in Illinois federal court that it trains on licensed YouTube content and that nothing alleges it extracts voiceprints or makes a voice the public would recognize. Meta made the same case before Judge Steven C. Seeger, saying nothing supports the claim it ingested their recordings. The plaintiffs pleaded on information and belief, conceding the companies have never disclosed their training audio sources. They sued under Illinois biometric privacy and right of publicity laws, and also named Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia.
