Everand, the Scribd-owned reading subscription service, launched a combined subscription bringing together its catalog of over 1.5 million audiobooks and e-books with the social book club app Fable, which it acquired in 2025, directly challenging Amazon's dominance in digital reading. Available to the two apps' 5 million combined readers, the plan offers access to the full library plus Fable's nearly 200,000 online book clubs, with reading activity synced across both apps. Pricing starts at $11.99 a month for one book, $16.99 for three, and $28.99 for five, a competitive deal versus Audible Premium Plus at $14.95 a month since it covers both formats. The bundling aims to create switching costs against Amazon's empire of Audible, Kindle, and Goodreads, capitalizing on BookTok-driven interest in reading communities. Everand is also expanding its tiers worldwide and now lets unused credits roll over for up to six months.
