Even Realities, a Shenzhen-based smart glasses startup founded by a former Apple engineer, raised $150M in a pre-Series B round at a $1B valuation, led by Meituan and Tencent. Founder and CEO Will Wang, who worked on the Apple Watch and iPhone before leaving Apple in 2018, differentiates the company’s flagship Even G2 glasses from Meta’s Ray-Ban line by leaving out a camera and piping messages, directions, and real-time translation through the lenses instead. Smart glasses shipments jumped 167% YoY to 2.25M units in the first quarter, with Meta holding roughly 70% of the market, and Even Realities plans to use the funding to expand internationally and strengthen its AI capabilities.
