Emergent, an AI software-creation platform that builds full-stack apps for non-technical founders through autonomous agents, closed a $130M Series C at a $1.5B valuation, led by Creaegis, Claypond, and Sentinel Global. Backers also included Khosla Ventures, SoftBank, Lightspeed, and Y Combinator, in a round that quintupled Emergent’s valuation in four months and made it a unicorn about a year after its public launch. Emergent lets entrepreneurs describe the web or mobile software they want while AI agents handle much of the build, positioning itself against generic SaaS, development shops, and lightweight prototyping tools. Funds will go toward stronger AI agents, expanded infrastructure, and international growth, as small businesses hunt for cheaper ways to build custom software.
