Depop notified sellers that it increased its Boosted Listing ad fees from 8% to 12% effective March 23. Users blamed eBay for the rate hike after the e-commerce giant recently announced a $1.2 billion agreement to acquire the platform from Etsy. Industry observers noted that Etsy likely implemented the policy change to maximize revenue ahead of the pending second-quarter acquisition following a similar fee increase in the U.K. last November.
