Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg has named a new board for the owner of WordPress.com and WooCommerce, weeks after the previous directors voted to put him on leave and he retook control 33 hours later, according to TechCrunch. The new directors are “Silo” author Hugh Howey, “Breakup Bootcamp” author Amy Chan, and Henry Khachatryan and Krutal Desai, who co-founded IRL, the social app that shut down after investigations found most of its users were bots. Mullenweg, who controls 84% of the vote, replaced the old directors after his return, and the previous board never explained why it tried to sideline him.
