Anthropic is entertaining investor offers for a new funding round that would value the AI company at more than $900B, according to Bloomberg, with TechCrunch reporting that the round could total $40B to $50B and that a board meeting in May is when Anthropic will likely decide whether to proceed. The potential valuation would eclipse OpenAI's $852B from a $122B round completed in late March and Anthropic's own most recent $380B mark set in February, with the company's annualized revenue run rate now exceeding $30B, up from roughly $9B at the close of 2025, and sources telling TechCrunch the actual figure is closer to $40B. Bloomberg has separately reported that Anthropic is weighing an IPO that could come as early as October, and the fundraising push also reflects compute needs tied to deals with Amazon for up to 5 gigawatts of capacity and a joint Google-Broadcom arrangement for another 5 gigawatts.
