Amazon plans a rush pickup service for one-hour in-store collection

by | Dec 11, 2025 | E-commerce News

Amazon began developing a “rush” pickup service that will let customers collect orders at its physical stores within an hour. The initiative, expected to pilot in Q1 2026, allows shoppers to place “unified” orders containing both online marketplace items and stock available at locations like Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh. The move aims to help the company catch up to Walmart, which currently dominates the click-and-collect market with a projected $38.5B in sales this year.
