Squarespace launches release-based selling tools for limited drops, including countdown reserved carts and scarcity badges

by | Jul 15, 2026 | Latest E-commerce News & Updates

Squarespace launched a set of release-based selling tools designed to help merchants build demand for limited, exclusive product drops. New features include a reserved cart that holds items for a set time with a built-in countdown before releasing them back to the storefront, low-inventory scarcity badges, quantity limits that stop a single buyer from hoarding, a Mini Cart checkout shortcut, and email-campaign support. Squarespace packages the tools in a single platform, unlike setups that make merchants patch together separate plugins for landing pages, inventory, and checkout. Merchants can access the tools worldwide, though availability depends on their subscription plan.
