Google began rolling out Search agents in AI Mode, starting with information agents that monitor the web around the clock and alert users when something they care about changes. The agents scan blogs, news, social posts, and real-time shopping, finance, and sports data, then deliver a synthesized update users can act on, such as flagging new apartment listings that fit set criteria or pinging when a favorite athlete announces a sneaker drop. For now the feature is limited to Google AI Ultra subscribers at $99.99 or $199.99 a month, triggered with phrases like “alert me when,” with a wider rollout to AI Pro this summer and near real-time updates versus the fixed intervals of Google’s earlier Gemini scheduling tools.
