Positron, a semiconductor startup, secured $230 million in Series B funding to accelerate the deployment of its high-speed memory chips. The Reno-based company is aiming to challenge Nvidia by offering inference hardware that reportedly matches the performance of H100 GPUs at a fraction of the power. Investors including the Qatar Investment Authority are backing the firm as demand is shifting toward efficient chips for running real-world AI applications.
