What's next with Kevin Hanna, founder of Polls Platform? Read our full interview below to learn how Kevin turned a natural consumer behavior into a new revenue channel for stores!

What is Polls Platform?

Polls Platform enables viral growth for Shopify stores through shareable polls that fit seamlessly into a brand’s shopping experience. By integrating polls into your website, your customers can easily solicit their friends’ opinions and share your products with their network.

Are you funded?

Yes

Who do you serve?

Shopify stores

What's standout about Polls Platform?

We saw a behavior that wasn't getting enough attention and turned it into a way for Shopify stores to grow virally. We are the first app to give brands direct exposure to their customers group chat.

What's next at Polls Platform?

After the launch of our initial product and the success we saw with our first hundred customers, our roadmap became crystal clear. Our customers loved getting access to new data on the buyer’s decision making process, diving into what products customers are deciding between, or who they consult with and ultimately why they decide to buy or not buy. Our upcoming release doubles down on buyer decision insights with new analysis tools.

Secondly, we saw first-hand how leveraging the latest platform features on mobile could help our customers drive more engagement, sharing, and word-of-mouth growth. This is critical in a market where mobile ecommerce and social shopping are only continuing to rise. Our upcoming release takes this to the next level, introducing Native Push Notifications, iOS Live Activity Views, App Clips, and more features previously unavailable to Shopify stores.

We’re excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible for Shopify stores.

What's next in your niche?

With a continuing trend away from brick-and-mortar shopping, brands are exploring new ways to build a similar experience into their online stores. We can see what social shopping looks like today, with new ways to vote, comment, and react with emojis to our friend's potential purchase. And the future of social shopping is already in the works.

From virtual retail stores and showrooms to digital fitting rooms and avatars that try on clothes for you, it's a race to create the best way for our friends to shop with us and capture the social feedback and validation we all crave.

Traditional marketing is slowing down. Paid advertising is expensive and, frankly, becoming less effective. Influencers are a dime a dozen.

Brands that adapt to the shift in shopping behavior will win.

What's one thing the public doesn't know about your professional background that has led you to this point in your career?

I worked as a digital marketing consultant at Deloitte for about a decade helping direct-to-consumer companies with their customer acquisition strategies. I saw firsthand how expensive paid ads were becoming and how quickly the industry was changing.

What's one thing you wish people paid more attention to in the world?

The road! It’s dangerous to text while driving.

Who should I interview next?

Leonidas Comino – he built his own e-commerce businesses and is now helping other businesses grow with email marketing
