What is 1send?
1send does retention marketing on FB Messenger. Meaning businesses can grow subscribers, broadcast DMs, and analyze campaigns. Since it’s built on Meta’s APIs, we have native FB ad integration to boost subscriber lists. We transform Messenger into a new channel for converting sales.

What's next at 1send?
Paul, 2 words: partners & integrations.
1send grew because of our agency partners. The first users that loved us were marketing agencies. They were our champions. They offered 1send to their clients as a new service. On average, each agency onboards 3-4 of their clients. We’ll continue doubling down on our agency partnership enablement.
I’m excited to announce first on Shopifreaks is our new integration with Klavyio. For context, half our agency partners are also Klaviyo partners. Their feedback was better integration for a more unified subscriber experience. Imagine being able to create a multi touch marketing campaign that spans email and FB Messenger. That’s what 1send is enabling in Klaviyo flows!
What's next in your niche?
1) Messaging has become the default communication channel. After all, when was the last time you sent a personal email? Businesses want to start engaging with their customers the way they engage with each other. That’s why Meta has made business messaging one of their top priorities.
When I was working at Meta, we saw significant business messaging use in Southeast Asia. We’re expecting the rest of world to catch up on this trend.
2) The other trend is more around ecommerce marketing. We’ve been seeing marketing focus shift from acquisition to retention. Acquisition is getting expensive (people spending less, more competition, etc). Whereas retention is a lot cheaper. No need to go through the marketing funnel again. More focus on increasing LTV
Who should I interview next?

What's one thing the public doesn't know about your professional background that has led you to this point in your career?
I used to run a film festival. At the time I'd worked only in corporate. I went from tons of resources to none. Meant everyone did a bit of everything. Operations, sponsorship, etc. It was exhausting but a lot of fun. We were creating something and growing our film community. We brought in John Cho to speak at our festival! This experience gave me a teaser of what being founder was like. Was a big part of me making the leap to being an entrepreneur.
