Warner Bros. Discovery accuses ByteDance of deliberate AI copyright theft

Warner Bros. Discovery sent a cease-and-desist letter to ByteDance, accusing the company of making a “deliberate design choice” to infringe on its intellectual property with its Seedance 2.0 tool. The studio joined Disney and Paramount in demanding that the tech giant stop training its AI models on protected content like Superman and The Joker. The conglomerate is currently seeking the revocation of licenses while CAA, a leading talent agency, is negotiating with regulators to implement stricter industry safeguards.
