VisioLab raises $11M Series A to expand its AI-powered visual self-checkout platform for food service operators globally

VisioLab, a German startup founded in 2019 that makes iPad-based self-checkout systems using computer vision and edge AI to recognize packaged and unpackaged food items without barcode scanning, closed an $11M Series A co-led by eCAPITAL Entrepreneurial Partners and Simon Capital. The company is using the funds to expand internationally, building on recent deployments at the Orlando Magic's Kia Center, Inter Miami CF's Nu Stadium, and an ongoing rollout with Live Nation Entertainment, with operator-reported data showing the system can reduce average transaction times by up to 70% and be set up by existing staff in about 10 minutes. Alongside the raise, VisioLab launched an integrated checkout-to-payment platform that combines item recognition, POS software, and payment processing in a single system, eliminating the need for separate payment terminals.
