Unitree, one of the world's largest humanoid robot makers, has filed for an initial public offering on the Shanghai stock exchange seeking to raise 4.2 billion yuan ($610M), disclosing that its operating revenue more than quadrupled last year to $247M while adjusted net profit grew more than seven-fold. The company sold 3,551 humanoid robots in just the first nine months of 2025, up from 410 units in all of 2024, and plans to use IPO proceeds primarily for AI model research and hardware development. Unitree is the first of a new generation of Chinese humanoid startups to file for an IPO, as Beijing pushes humanoid robotics as a strategic priority to address labor shortages and gain ground in its technology competition with the U.S.
