Trustpilot partners with Shopify to let merchants display and manage its reviews on their stores as AI reshapes online trust

Trustpilot, the consumer-review platform, partnered with Shopify to let merchants surface and control Trustpilot reviews inside their own storefronts, going live June 29 with undisclosed terms. CEO Adrian Blair pitched the deal around trust in the AI era, arguing that as synthetic AI-generated content floods online retail, third-party feedback from real shoppers becomes a more valuable signal, with Trustpilot positioning itself as a canonical record of customer experiences. AI search engines and shopping assistants also lean on review data like Trustpilot's, so more reviews can lift a merchant's visibility, with click-throughs from AI search up 1,490% in its latest financial year. Blair called the non-exclusive deal the first major proof point of a strategy set out this year, with retail one of several verticals Trustpilot targets.
