Thousands of AI nudify app ads ran on Facebook and Instagram through GatherOne, one of 11 agencies Meta requires Chinese advertisers to use since its platforms are blocked there, according to the Tech Transparency Project. Meta bars the apps under both its community standards and its ad rules, and many ads came from accounts that looked fake, breaking a separate ban on inauthentic assets. Meta pulled many ads while TTP was reporting, but the group found GatherOne accounts still running them and no penalty applied to the agency, which places over 30,000 ads a month. GatherOne said it stopped taking new ad accounts in those categories.
