Shopify updated its inventory transfer system to allow merchants to edit shipments even after they were in transit or received. The platform removed the requirement to specify origins or destinations for certain transfers, which enabled users to record stock from outside sources or write off inventory to untracked locations. Developers also gained access to relaxed API requirements that no longer mandated both origin and destination fields for transfer updates.
