Russian authorities blocked Archive.today and several of its associated domains, including .is and .ph, with error pages citing Roskomnadzor, the government agency responsible for internet censorship, though no reason for the block was given at the time of publication. TechCrunch confirmed the block from the U.S. East Coast but was still able to access the sites through other devices and networks. The block comes shortly after Wikipedia editors voted to remove hundreds of thousands of links to Archive.today after discovering the site's code was using visitors' browsers without their knowledge to flood a critic's website with junk traffic.
