President Donald Trump announced a $1,776 “Warrior Dividend” for 1.45 million military members, claiming the payments were funded by tariff revenues. However, senior administration officials confirmed the funds actually originate from a $2.9 billion housing supplement already approved by Congress in July as part of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”. Separately, the Department of Homeland Security authorized $2,000 “Devotion to Duty” payments for the U.S. Coast Guard, which will net approximately $1,776 after taxes.
