OpenAI tests packing multiple advertisers into a single ChatGPT ad as it builds out its ad platform with new tools and markets

by | Jun 9, 2026 | Latest E-commerce News & Updates

OpenAI is testing a new ad format in ChatGPT that lets several advertisers appear within a single sponsored placement, expanding its ad inventory and giving brands more chances to reach users during product research and purchase conversations. The eligible ads will be sold through a second-price auction, and the test is currently limited to a small subset of ChatGPT ads. Alongside it, OpenAI is making its Ads Manager look more like the platforms marketers already use, adding bulk editing, daily-budget and CPM-to-CPC conversions, and average daily budgets, and it expanded geographic targeting beyond the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to include the UK, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, and Mexico.
